THE COURSE
BIRDY'S BACKYARD ULTRA COURSE

At Birdy’s, the course is never quite the same twice. Every year the trails at Lake Towerrinning keep us on our toes, and we tweak the loop to suit the conditions. Sometimes it’s firmer underfoot, sometimes it’s softer… The loop may shift a little each year, but once it’s marked, that’s the path – no shortcuts, no detours.
What doesn’t change?
- It’s always 6.71 km.
- It’s always every hour, on the hour.
- It’s always designed to run long.
We don’t hand out GPX files (sorry data nerds) and there’s no official vert to brag about. What you do get is a lap that will test you, surprise you, and push you further than you thought possible. And while it won’t be your everyday training ground – it’s private land reserved just for Birdy’s – it might just become the loop you’ll never forget.
