Big Birdy’s Backyard has grown to become an iconic Backyard Ultra on the Australian calendar. The original world series affiliated Backyard Ultra for Ultra Series, it has been home to extraordinary feats, incredible moments, award worthy documentaries and Australian records. And not to mention, the birthplace of the rise and rise of an incredible pool of talent in the backyard ultra scene, including the current world record holder in Phil Gore! So much talent has grown on this course in fact, that along with it’s sister event, Herdy’s Frontyard Ultra, it has propelled Western Australia to be the number 1 state in the world to have runners accomplish 24 hours, 36 hours and 48 hours!
